There are signs across the country that we are finally beating COVID-19.
Little ones amid the masked-faces and daily updates - but the best one yet I've seen for local communities was the news that country shows are coming back.
Yep, in NSW the first country show is expected to be held in January next year and talks are underway on how the big one - that's the Sydney Royal Easter Show - could proceed after this year's cancellation.
The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is hoping to have all competitions up and running in 2021.
But back to its little country cousins, these shows are a huge deal for communities and it's great news that we might see them back so soon - albeit a little different than how they were run in the past.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro made the announcement this week that regional communities and show committees could start planning for next year.
Work was underway to ensure COVID-safe measures were in place to allow up to 5000 people at any given time to attend shows, starting with Bowral, which is scheduled to kick off on January 9.
The news made Agricultural Societies Council president Tim Capp "over the moon".
"It's fantastic for regional shows that they can start planning for a COVID-safe way ahead in 2021," Mr Capp said.
He said shows would be more spread out, and pointed out that the Showman's Guild was already operating in a COVID safe way in Queensland, so he "couldn't see why they couldn't do the same here".
So get ready NSW - showbags and competitions will hopefully be back sooner rather than later.
