Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack announced Parkes would receive an additional $1.28 million from the Local Road and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program in the October 6 Federal Budget.
That's on top of the $1.3 million the shire was already granted this year.
Council conducted extensive community consultation on its new Your Say Parkes platform in August, shortlisting 12 of the 20 projects nominated for LRCI funding.
At council's ordinary monthly meeting on October 20, councillors agreed to use the results from the LRCI community consultation to help them allocate funding for this next round.
"Given the recency of [the] round one LRCI community consultation, it is not proposed to repeat that engagement, but use previous consultation to allocate the round two LRCI funding," the report tabled at the meeting read.
A councillor workshop will be held this Tuesday to allocate funding to projects.
