Now in the first month of the Bush Fire Danger Period for another year, the Mid Lachlan Valley Team has turned to social media to reach out to businesses.
"Local businesses in Forbes, Weddin, Lachlan and Parkes Local Government Areas - We need your help," the post read.
"Having just experienced one of the worst bushfire seasons on record, our staff here at [the] Mid Lachlan Valley Team have been busy preparing for the season ahead.
"One of the many ways we must ensure we are prepared, is by identifying local suppliers early."
During a major incident, the Mid Lachlan Valley Team said the RFS requires many items and services. Just some of these include catering, accommodation, fuel, ice, tools, equipment hire (generators, marquees, portaloos, skip bins, cool rooms), cleaning services, transport services (buses, private cars, freight), security services and mechanical services.
"We urgently require a broad range of suppliers for the upcoming fire season," they said.
"If you're an interested business, we need your support!"
Businesses who are able to provide support, can register via this link q2c.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
The process is quick and easy, and can be completed in minutes.
For those who have successfully completed their self-registration online, the Mid Lachlan Valley Team ask for you to let them know so they can keep an eye on the status of your application.
For more information or assistance registering, people can contact the Forbes Fire Control Centre on 6851 1541.
