A number of Parkes, Forbes, Grenfell and Young runners are engaged in the meeting, while Bathurst trainers Steve Turnbull and Nathan Hurst are also sending horses down the Newell Highway to contest what is a very strong country meeting.
Eight races are scheduled for Sunday with the running of the Cup and the SJC Contracting under 55 Final headlining the event.
A strong 11 horse field for runners with a National Rating up to 100 will contest the Cup with $17,850 worth of prize money up for grabs.
The highest rated horse in the race, PUMP THE BRAKES, trained by Kiwi Sean Grayling who is now based in southwest Sydney, has been racing in strong company at Menangle in recent weeks.
The gelding will be joined in the back row by MAJOR ROLL and GOLDEN YEAR, who have both had wins at Menangle over the past couple of months at a mile rate better than 1:54.6.
The recently crowned Parkes Harness Racing Club Horse of the Year GABBYS SPORTSTAR will roll forward from a good draw, while Steve Turnbull's FIRESTORM RED has been racing well in tougher races since winning in Parkes on September 13.
Talented Parkes family Malcolm, Brett and Mitch Hutchings both have multiple training and driving commitments, and will be looking to return home with a win - much like last week.
With Mitch aboard, PRETTYBOYTOM ($13) sprouted wings in the shadows of the post in the Mitavite Pace, holding out the well-fancied favourite LORD BAZALUP to win by a neck for trainer Malcolm.
Brett will be hoping to nab a first win for OLD FARM WAY since the mare transferred from Victorian Kerryn Manning's stable, while the superbly named MOREARTSTHANCLASS will be looking to make a big step up in company since breaking her maiden on September 27 in Parkes.
Grenfell trainer Mark Hewitt has three strong chances running in the meeting, though MIGHTY JOE ($2.30) who scored an easy win two starts back in Parkes, will have to settle in a good spot in the JK Design and Construction Pace after copping a horror draw.
Runners in the under 55 final qualified via the heats run in West Wyalong on October 11, and Bathurst trainer Gregory Rue will be hoping WHISKIESONTHEBEACH can push through from the inside draw on the second row and challenge for the $14,280 prize money up for grabs.
The meeting begins at 1.42pm with the running of the TAB Odds and Evens Maiden Pace.
