A 24-year-old man is fighting serious injuries while a 23-year-old woman has been charged after a single-vehicle crash west of Orange.

A Hyundai Elantra travelling east on Parkham Road, Manildra, left the roadway and hit a tree at about 1am on Saturday.

The 23-year-old woman was driving and sustained minor injuries, while the 24-year-old man, her passenger, was trapped for more than two hours.

Both were taken to Orange hospital, with the man still in a serious condition.

During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly seized cannabis.

About 12.30pm on Saturday, the woman was released from hospital and attended Orange Police Station where she was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, negligent driving and drug possession.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court on November 2, 2020.
