Adavale Lane Community Centre is 40 kilometres from Parkes, past Northparkes Mines on Adavale Lane which is off the Bogan Road.
The Centre is a hall which is used for meetings such as Landcare, Northparkes Neighbours and the Rural Fire Service.
There was a very good turnout of members, who were delighted to see a new kitchen installed as the result of a grant with the Community Building Partnership program.
Adavale Hall is also used for social gatherings such as an annual Christmas Party, barbecues and camp oven nights.
The improvements give the area a Community Hub for rural support and friendship, and it is something that will benefit the centre for the generations to come.
When it came to the AGM, a fresh new committee was on the cards.
Samantha Bennett, a local accountant who has experience running AGM's, ran the election where a new committee was nominated and elected.
The new office bearers are:
- President - Greg Diener
- Vice President - Heather Green
- Secretary - Daneille Diener
- Treasurer - Stacey Townsend
- Ordinary Committee members - Lisa Bicket, Jane Oram and Michael Green.
Members enjoyed a morning tea and catch up after the meeting.
