To facilitate this process, the Library will be closed for four weeks from Friday September 11. Access to online collections and resources will still be available during the closure period and the loan period will be extended October 20.
Dollar for Dollar
Parkes Shire Council is inviting owners and lessees to apply for dollar for dollar matched funding under the Parkes Shire Local Heritage Fund Program.
Last financial year, Council's Local Heritage Program successfully completed more than $23,000 worth of heritage projects. More than $13,500 was contributed by the applicants with more than $8000 provided through local heritage funding.
Please be advised that grant applications for the 2020/21 Heritage Fund must be completed and provided to council prior to close of business, Friday, 11 September 2020.
Application forms, conditions and guidelines are available on council's website or from council's administration centre.
eNotices for rates
We are pleased to welcome the arrival of eNotices for all ratepayers who wish to view their Rates & Water notices electronically. For convenience and ease Parkes Shire residents' rates and notices will be available to view through SaveMail, a new online platform to download and view your rates history.
In the coming days and weeks, Parkes Shire residents will receive an invitation to register for Save Mail, please note you must register to enable access to view Rates & Water electronically.

With Father's Day just around the corner our community will be looking for easy, convenient gift ideas to give dad. To make it easier for our community & to support local businesses Parkes Shire Council have put together a Father's Day Gift Guide showcasing local offers, home delivered, deals and gift ideas. All local businesses have been invited to submit an offer & can still do so. Our community can view these offers via our Visit Parkes website & Shop Parkes social media.
Waiving pool fees
To support the community during the drought, Parkes Shire Council is continuing to waive the Peak Hill, Trundle & Tullamore pools' admission fee for the 2020-21 pool season. For the upcoming swimming season, admission into the Peak Hill, Trundle and Tullamore swimming pools will be free for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. Parkes Shire pools are expected to open on Saturday 7 November 2020 for the 2020-21 swimming season.
