The Day VIEW Club Committee has decided after much discussion that the Business Meetings of the Club should be in suspension until we are able to have all members to attend.
As it is now, there can only be groups of 10 in venues, so that means we can only schedule Social Luncheons rather than the usual number at Business Meetings of 25 or more.
We organised the August Social Luncheon on our usual Meeting day, last Tuesday, 4 August, at the Coachman, our chosen venue for 2020.
This is the "new normal" for the VIEW Club; that is, at least until the situation about gatherings changes, and groups can have more than 10 in a happening!
We were able to catch up with each other, as to what we have experienced over the past month.
This was really great!

We were also able to take up a collection to help finance our 4 Smith Family "Learning for Life" school children. We were keen to still support them.
The Smith Family's Learning for Life program recognises and supports disadvantaged children that need extra support to stay at school and go on to further studies or a job.
Large gaps in educational achievement, based on students' backgrounds, are apparent in the first year of school and these gaps grow as young people move through school.
This was a wonderful help for us, because we are unable to hold the Trivia Night that we have each August.
The Trivia Night is certainly fun each year, and the community of Parkes that participates assists us in raising money for the charity we support.
The next Business Meeting should be on Tuesday, 1 September, at the Coachman.
However, it seems that once again we will have a Social Lunch at that time, and will continue to do so for some time.
