Local Government Week takes place from August 3 to 9, 2020 with the theme this year of 'Councils Do', highlighting the significant work councils do in their communities and the wide variety of services they provide including libraries, roads, waste collection, footpaths, parks, pools, water supply, sewerage services, sporting facilities and animal shelters, to mention but a few.
