Parkes fought hard but a handling error gave Rhinos another opportunity with the scrum feed on the 10 metre line. They crossed then added the extras to take a 12 -0 lead.

Mackenzie Green and Jo Moss worked hard hitting the attack to slow the game while Rory Nock used his game experience to focus the forward pack and push the game up the field.

Boars had a couple of scoring opportunities, but the Rhinos had better ball security in the wet.

Right on half time the referee found a penalty and the Rhinos took the advantage and scored under the posts, with a successful conversion adding the extra points. This meant the Rhinos took a 19-0 lead into the sheds at half time.

Back on the field, the Byrnes brothers Will and Jack combined in the backs through a good set play to put Will over the line for the Boars first points.

Nathan Llangalli started to find gaps in the Rhinos defence finally with his trademark high stepping switching side stepping run to put the ball down on the wing. 24-10.

Rhinos hit back after a gruelling 15 minute battle in the centre of the field after a high floating ball found the Rhinos winger who crossed out wide to seal the game with 8 minutes to go.

The final score was 29-10, in favour of Dubbo. It wasn't the results the Boars were hoping said acting coach Anthony Stewart.

"The second half was the turn around for us, we matched them in all plays. Our game was more structured and disciplined. The team will build on this experience when they continue to train and build their on-field set plays."

Meanwhile the Ladies side had a huge win over Young, going out 47-nil victors, with seven different try scorers for the Boars.

Jordan Gaffney led from the front with some ferocious tackles and strong runs, while Paulini Lawanikula had a number of trademark break out runs that stretched the Young defence.

There was a big number (18) playing in the horrid conditions, a great sign for the club.
