The U12 Boars played their first game of the 2020 season against Wellington.
The cold, wet conditions weren't going to stop the kids who were keen as mustard to get among the action.
It took no time for the players to get used to a full field, 15 a side format and an enthusiastic defensive effort and structured play from the whole team in the opening half set the Parkes team up.
With all players getting involved the two teams went to the break with a nil all score line.
After a quick and chilly half-time chat from saturated but dedicated coaches the second half got under way.
Wellington were the first to cross the line scoring under the posts which made the conversion easy and took the score to 7-0.
Parkes fought back and with excellent team effort put Lachie Reynolds over to casually score under the posts.
The extras were added by Ewan Moody to even the score at 7 a piece which was the end result when the final hooter rang.
Special mention and word of thanks to Jonah Ruzgas for the awesome reffing before heading over to Dubbo to play in his own game.
Lots of positive comments about the way he controlled the game safely, fairly and the on-field feedback he gave the players was appreciated.
