Two men have been charged after being detected in possession of prohibited drugs as they crossed the border from Victoria into NSW earlier today.

About 9.40am, police were enforcing the closure of the Newell Highway at Tocumwal, when they stopped and spoke with the 24-year-old male driver of a Victorian registered car.
While speaking him, officers noticed that he and his 28-year-old passenger appeared to be drug-affected.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle and located gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB), steroids, two knives, and items consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.
During a subsequent search of the men, officers located methylamphetamine, buprenorphine and mobile phones. Police also seized a total of $4065 cash.
The older man, who is from Tocumwal, was charged with supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
The younger man, who is from South Gladstone in Queensland, was charged with supply prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime.
Both men have been refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 9 July 2020).
They will also be given directions under the Public Health Act to self-isolate for 14 days.
