WESTERN NSW is following a statewide trend with less fatalities on the road for the first six months of 2020 compared to the same time last year.

So far this year 23 people have lost their lives on roads across Western NSW, this is down from 35 during the same period last year.
Across NSW, 149 road users have been killed, including those in a vehicle, pedestrians and cyclists, which is down from 181 who died during the first half of 2019.

NSW Police western region traffic tactician Inspector Ben Macfarlane praised motorists across the region for their behaviour while behind the wheel.
"This is a good result so far and drivers can be congratulated on that result," he said.
