This was the first 18-hole Lachlan Valley event since COVID-19 restrictions were introduced and it proved popular with 55 starters representing Forbes, Parkes, West Wyalong, Grenfell, Condobolin and Cowra clubs.
Linda Glasgow won the A grade with solid 40 points, taking the honours on a count-back from Forbes' Garry Pymont who took out the NSW veterans-sponsored local competition.
This meant Condobolin's Greg Moncreiff (37 points) won the runners-up prize.
The B grade also went to a count-back with Tony Glasgow edging out Alan Rees (Forbes) with 34 points.
Rees was also awarded a NSW veterans prize with the B grade runner-up being John Smith (Forbes).
Forbes made full use of their home ground advantage to claim the Geoff Cole/Mick Miller shield with 111 points from their top three stableford scores, edging out West Wyalong on 109 points.
Condobolin was next best on 103 points, followed by Parkes (97), Grenfell (84) and Cowra (27).
Nearest the pins went to Greg Moncrieff (9th hole) and Forbes' Peter Barnes (18th) in A grade, while B grade winners were Alan Luff of Cowra (9th) and Forbes' Geoff Drane (18th).
The ball sweep went to 29 points with Parkes winners being Robert Lea (33), Phil Bishop (32) and Rod Luyt (29).
Parkes will host the next Lachlan Valley event on Thursday, July 16, while this Thursday's Parkes/Forbes vets competition will also be played at Parkes.
