Mr Job joined the West Parkes Rural Fire Brigade in 1966. He's been deputy captain, captain and group captain of the Rural Fire Service brigade. Although he handed over the reigns earlier this year, he is still an active member.
Mr Job has been awarded an Australian Fire Service Medal.
The volunteer has also played a major role in recruiting others.
"He has been a strong advocate for the volunteers, and was instrumental in starting the NSWRFS Cadet program at Parkes High School which has been running for the past 14 years," the citation said.
"The program is so popular that each year more candidates apply than there are available places and a high percentage of these students progress to become full time members of the RFS."
