With regional travel in NSW back on the cards as of June 1, the Parkes Visitor Information Centre and Henry Parkes Museums have re-opened ready to welcome back visitors to the region.

The Parkes Visitor Centre has been operational online and over the phone during the COVID-19 restrictions to assist with visitor enquiries, support local operators and community service groups get through this tough period.
As of Monday, Council's Visitor Services team are ready to welcome walk-in visitors on weekdays from 9am - 4pm with physical distancing and hygiene measures in place.

Council's Tourism Team Leader, Lisa Moon said "we are excited to be welcoming back visitors to the Parkes Shire and reconnect with friends and loved ones and experience the fun and quirky attractions, wide open spaces and local hospitality they have been craving".
"However, with many local iconic tourism experiences still making plans to re-open and accommodation operators striving to build their bookings, the Centre remain closed on weekends until demand increases. Online and over the phone services will still be available to assist visitors plan their adventure in the Parkes region."
The King's Castle Elvis Exhibit and Parkes Motor Museum will also re-open on weekdays to a strict number of patrons within the 4m squared rule.
Additional hygiene measures have been introduced for everyone's safety and visitors will also be required to sign in with their name and phone number to assist with contact tracing if required in the future.
The Henry Parkes theatre experience in Moat Cottage will remain closed in line with NSW Public Health Orders relating to cinemas.
The Parkes Historical Society will also re-open at the same times and manage their patrons in line with Government regulations.
"While we continue to provide our visitor information services, we want to make sure that anyone that comes into our centre is protected, as well as our staff and volunteers," Lisa said.
