This is another great turnout and again we thank the golfing fraternity for supporting us.
We are seeing new faces each week and it's making for exciting results.
The course had a good 30ml of rain across Wednesday and Thursday so it played long during and post the rain, reflecting in only 10 players managing to break 80 this week.
Once again it was a stableford event and 38 was the best score of the day and it also proved popular with four players achieving it.
The winner this week was Joshua Kearney who won on a countback from Brendon Simpson, Mitch McGlashan and Rob Lea.
All had great rounds, but Mitch did achieve a three under par 68 to gather his points, the cruelty of being the club low marker.
The other three players achieved their scores with three under their daily handicap which would have been pleasing.
Well done to all four in this tight finish.
There were only three other players who had par or better stableford scores so that southern chilled wind must have been causing some duress.
Amongst these were two great rounds of one over 72s from local legend Joe Van Opynen and regular Toukley visitor Adam Deane but to counter this there were also over 30 players who did not manage to break 100 so the course did exact some revenge.
Only four lady golfers braved the conditions with Anita Medcalf coming out on top with 32 net on the day.
Ball winners were Brendon Simpson, Mitch McGlashan, Rob Lea, Joe Van Opynen, Rob Cheney, David Stevenson, Todd Jayet, Nym Dziuba, Warwick Wright, Adam Deane, Ross Smith, Riall Harrison, Kieran Deland, Matt Lawryk, Michael Thomas and Garry Phipps.
A reminder that the Handiskins event will commence on June 20 and will be run over five qualifying rounds and a final for the local competition.
The four finalists then play off for a local prize pool and are also offered an opportunity to play at Royal Pines in a national final.
The more that play the larger the local pool so make sure you get involved.
This week we play for the S & K MANN CARPET CLEANING MONTHLY MEDAL with the sponsor being TELESCOPE TYRES & BATTERIES with the GRIFFINS LEADING EDGE putting competition in conjunction and the Vets Medal.
Make sure you are in attendance to support these great sponsors and compete to win a prestigious Monthly Medal.
We will be playing as much of our club championship events as possible this year so keep tuned in for announcements on commencing times and playing conditions.
With a reduced timeframe to fit in the competitions this year, times between rounds will reduce.
By now all playing members should have received their logins to our online tee booking system.
If not make sure you provide your email address to the ProShop and it will be organised.
