It was even more so special for Parkes residents when they could hear the Last Post sound throughout the town.
A very special moment indeed.

A number of Parkes residents played the Last Post from their driveways and Duncan Clements, a former army mechanic and veteran of Afghanistan played the Last Post and Reveille from the Parkes War Memorial.
A recording of Last Post and Reveille was also played over a loudspeaker at 6am from the bell tower at the Anglican Church.
