Well...what a week it has been...I have gone from having My Sharona running in my head....to Come on Eileen.

I think you can work out the connection with My Sharona...but COVID-19...yep, there you go...so what has this got to do with Landcare I hear you ask!

Due to the threat of infection, many meetings, presentations and gatherings have been postponed or cancelled....but, our Landcare Tree Project is just taking off again!

We did call for expressions of interest last year and those EOI will continue over.

We did hold off the project until this autumn, hoping for a change in conditions, which we are fortunate to eventuate.

However, I realise we are not out of the woods just yet.

This project is to assist with replacement of lost trees and shrubs during the drought, which we know has been a significant problem with unprecedented conditions, or an opportunity to extend or establish a new line.

Thanks to Landcare Australia and Inland Rail, we are providing Landholder Landcare Members up to 80 native tubestock and guards.

Obviously, due to the drought conditions, there may be limited supply of some species, but we will certainly do our best to provide what we can.

For those of you who, like me, did a normal shop on the weekend and popped in for a top up during the week, you may be scratching your head.

At least we can be grateful that people are bulk buying toilet paper and canned tomatoes, as opposed to items that are being purchased in other countries that potentially have a far more malicious intent.

Try to think of creative ways that we can still support our local businesses.

They made it through the last couple of years, we just need to get over this one.

Now is a great time to make the most of their social media presence.

I am sure that home delivery is possible for many local businesses at this time. Just ask!

Just don't....come a little closer, huh, close enough to look in my eyes.....I couldn't resist that one.
