In recognition of International Women's Day on March 8, the Central West Car Club (CWCC) recently gathered some of its female members with their vehicles for a photo shoot and a story.

Not only is the CWCC open to all sorts of vehicles, but we are equally welcoming to both men and women.
We have some amazing ladies in the car club and this is a great opportunity to acknowledge all those with and without their own cars.
Some have come to the club with their husbands or partners while others have joined individually to follow their passion.
Whatever their position, they all share an enthusiasm for all things on wheels and here's just a few of them.
Aleta Pay with her '67 Camaro was actually the first member that I wrote a story on after finding out that her desire for a Camaro stemmed from the 1985 movie "Better Off Dead".
Jo Hemming yearned for an EH ute when her thoughts of owning one were dashed and she ended up with a Corolla.
WHAT'S HAPPENING ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY IN PARKES:
On the other hand, Susan Ray actually wanted a Toyota and now owns "Amy", the very same Corona Mk II that her parents drove.
"My mum is 101 now, and I think she still reckons it's her car," Susan laughed.
Kath Martin turned up in hers and husband Chris's 1971 XY Ford GT replica.
She told us that he was just a little bit mortified when she mentioned taking the car for a drive over the Parkes Elvis Festival.
"The Prado? he said. "No - the Ford! " she laughed.
While being the only member of the Mill family not in the car club, Sam Mill arrived in her and hubbie's 2014 supercharged HSV Clubsport.
I hinted that it was quick and she smiled as she told me she'd raced it only the once at Autofest in the standing 8's and she absolutely loved it!
Meanwhile Kym Hodges in hers and husband Lex's 2006 Monaro GTO was just a bit tentative in letting on that her daughter-in-law has tried to lay claim to theirs - the last of the Monaros.
"My other daughter-in-law doesn't know yet," she laughed.
Lea Orr drove her newly acquired 1962 EK Holden panel van called Elsie.
"I've got matching coloured earrings made from the original tailgate," she said - but that's a story for another day.
And Jennie Barnes is the original Oily Bird.
"I was with a group of vanners and the ladies laughed when I bought an oil can with an Oily Bird on it. 'We're all Oily Birds' one of the others said, and the tag has stuck," she said.
Rounding out the numbers on the day were Jo Macdonald in her 2006 VZ Calais, Christine Miskell with "Granny's Car" - a 1930 Chevrolet Club Sedan, Suzy Mill with her 1949 BSA B33 motorbike and one of the club's earliest members, Chicka Sharpe with her 1955 FJ Holden.
Last word goes to our club president Rodney Barnes who said that despite their recent demise, General Motors obviously knew how to sell cars - whether it was to women or men.
"Of the 11 cars here six are Holdens and two are Chevs, so they've still got the lion's share," he said.
