Police are investigating a fire that completely destroyed a home on Parkesborough Road on Wednesday night. Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.50pm where the house was well alight.

Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW and Parkes and Tichborne Rural Fire Service brigades worked quickly to contain the blaze, however the home was lost.
Forensic Services and Parkes detectives have commenced and investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire. There was no one at home at the time of the blaze.

An L plater was caught driving unaccompanied on Wednesday afternoon.
Police stopped the driver of a white Ford Falcon at 4.55pm near Morrissey Way.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 30-year-old Orange man, was issued an infringement notice for being an unaccompanied learner and penalty notices for not displaying L plates.
His licence was suspended on the spot for three months.

Police are warning the community to be vigilant after an attempted fraud was reported to police.
A contractor sent an invoice for $57,256 for works completed to a local organisation via email.
Before the account could be paid unknown persons hacked the contractors email and sent a second invoice with amended bank account details.
The organisation paid transferred the funds to the new account but the bank stopped the transaction from being processed.
Investigations are continuing.

Residents at a Peak Hill Road foiled a break and enter attempt in the early hours of Monday morning.
Occupants heard noises at at window 4.30am and thought it was the wind.
Upon investigating they discovered an external blind was removed and the window was raised.
The occupants then heard rustling noises in the bushes and called out.
The offender ran away.
Forensic services will assess the scene.

A property owner on Lake Metcalfe Road has reported trespassing and malicious damage offences to police on Monday morning.
Unknown offenders had been trespassing on a property, after cutting a chain on a gate resulting in a number of sheep roaming off the place.
A witness observed a Nissan Navara in the immediate area.
Investigations are continuing.

A 25-year-old Parkes woman will face court after driving while her licence was suspended.
Police stopped the driver of a white Holden Commodore at 4.30pm on Monday on the Henry Parkes Way for the purpose of a random breath test.
The breath test returned a negative result, however checks revealed her licence to be suspended.

A 39-year-old Parkes man will face court after being caught drink driving on Saturday morning.
Police stopped the driver of a white Ford Falcon in Bogan Street at 12.07am.
The driver failed the roadside breath test, was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station for a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.102.
He was charged with mid-range PCA to appear in Parkes Local Court at a later date.

A 38-year-old Parkes woman will face court after being caught driving while disqualified on Saturday morning.
Police stopped the driver of a silver Holden Astra for the purpose of random drug and alcohol testing at 12.30am.
Both tests returned negative results however checks revealed her licence to be disqualified.
She was arrested and charged and will face Parkes Local Court at a later date.
