With the high temperatures associated with the big heat wave last weekend, two of the scheduled games were called off.
The Thursday, January 30 game played in the evening at Northparkes Oval did go ahead with the Parkes Hotel Galahs gaining a very convincing 9 wicket victory over Northparkes Cricket Clb.
The scores this game were: Northparkes 9/71 (Joe Van Opynen 4/15 from 6, Brad Parker 2/12 from 6, Jacob Parker 2/24 from 3.5) lost to Parkes Hotel Galahs 1/17 in 10 overs (Brent Skinner 47 no). Parkes Hotel Galahs (5pts), Northparkes Cricket Club (0pts).
The two other games for Round 11 between the Honey Badgers Cricket Society vs Bowling Club and the Star Hotel v Reedy Creek will be rescheduled to be played at a later date in the season.
As can be seen from the above match scores, the Galahs most certainly had some in form players to spearhead them to such a strong victory. The ever noticeable Joe van Opynen turned in a top bowling spell to capture 4/15 off 6 overs while hard hitting Brent Skinner did not mes about in scoring 47 no to guide his team to victory.
