Australia Day in Parkes
7am - Begin with a community walk starting at 7am at Cooke Park, followed by a free breakfast at Cooke Park. Breakfast is sponsored by Totally WorkWear Parkes, 2PK & McDonalds Parkes.
7.30am-11am - Over the hill, kites of all sizes and shapes including a giant whale will be flying high at Northparkes Oval.
10am - All Australian Car Display at Cooke Park.
10.30am - Live entertainment by the Parkes Shire Band at Cooke Park. Enjoy listening to some Australian favourites!
11am - Official ceremony at Cooke Park, including National Anthem, Flag Raising, Ambassador Address & Presentation of Civic, Cultural, Environmental & Sports Awards.
2pm-6pm - Make a splash at the Parkes Aquatic Centre with free entry as part of Parkes Shire Council's drought support.
7pm - Enjoy the setting sun with harness racing and the infamous annual Golden Yabby Race!
Australia Day in Trundle
Get the celebrations started by joining in the community breakfast from 7:30am at Berryman Oval.
The Official Ceremony kicks off at 9am, with the flag raising, presentation of Citizen and Sporting Awards, and presentations made by the Bush Tucker Day Committee. Prize for Best Dressed in Australiana Theme.
Make a splash at the Trundle Pool from 11am - 7pm with free entry as part of the Parkes Shire Council's drought relief.
Australia Day in Peak Hill
Join in the community BBQ breakfast from 7am - 7.30am at Memorial Park and share the inspiring stories of the year.
From 8:20am, the Official Ceremony gets underway and the program includes:
- Sing Australia
- Welcome to Country
- Flag Raising and National Anthem
- Presentation of Australia Day Awards
- Cutting of cake and best hat/outfit awards
End the day with a FREE sausage sizzle at 5.30pm Peak Hill Swimming Pool

Australia Day at Tullamore Pool
7.30am Community Breakfast & Official awards presented by Parkes Shire Council Australia Day Ambassador Father Chris Riley, Am. Followed by fun and games in the water. See you there!
Pool open until 7pm. Make a splash at Tullamore Pool with free entry as part of the Parkes Shire Council's drought support.
Australia Day in Bogan Gate
Join in the Official Ceremony at the Park from 8.45am, which will include the Welcome and Flag Raising.
Then at 9am make your way to the Memorial Hall for the Official Ceremony.
At 9.15am the Ambassador Mr Allan Sparkes CV, OAM, VA will address the Ceremony, followed by morning tea, competitions and prizes!
