But he admits that the slow pace isn't always practical.

"I went looking for another club car that was still old and unique but could keep up with the rest of the cars on a club run," Mick laughed.

"And I decided on another Plymouth."

This one is a 1954 Plymouth Belvedere and Mick bought it earlier in 2019 in March from a lady in Wollongong.

"The car was exactly as you see it now," Mick said.

"With the popular rusty look patina and wide wheels on old school whitewall tyres."

Mick has spent plenty of time 'messing around' with the Plymouth to learn more about it and to keep it reliable.

"There's very few of them around," he said.

Although based on the U.S. Plymouth, Mick's Belvedere - being an original right hand drive car - was possibly built by Chrysler Australia in South Australia, where it came out with a flat head side valve six cylinder engine and automatic gearbox.

"There's no park in the auto configuration for some reason so you've got to remember the handbrake or it'll roll away on you," he joked.

For now he has no plans to fully restore the Plymouth from its 'barn-find' patina.

"I'm enjoying the soft ride and a little more pace than the 1930, but I still like them both," he said.

The CWCC meets regularly on the first Wednesday of the month at the Parkes Leagues Club at 7.30pm for anybody interested and guests are always welcome.
