The couple married on January 23, 1960, at Peak Hill Methodist Church and moved to Lilyburn to start a farming life. From there they moved to to Fourwinds and are now settled into town life in Parkes.

Ann and John enjoy shared passions including tennis and squash. John played cricket, golf and bowls and Ann has always enjoyed gardening.

They've both been strong members of the community, volunteering with the Uniting Church, Meals on Wheels, and fundraising since retiring from the farm and work at Handi Steel.

Ann and John believe the secret to a long and loving marriage is communication and working things out, and keeping family as their focus. Their family includes their three children, Nigel, Joann Lam, and Kent, as well as eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
