All these years later that love has not waned one bit and this is her sixth trip to the Parkes Elvis Festival.
Her most memorable celebrations for Elvis' birthday was in 2008 when her visit to town was abruptly cut short.
"I came with a friend who slipped and broke her ankle on the second morning we were here," Maxine said.
"We were at the Poet's Breakfast and it had just started to rain making everything very slippery.
"She spent the night in Parkes hospital and the next day we caught a train home. I was devastated."

When Maxine arrived home early with quite the long face, her next door neighbour and good friend Julie Pullar said "Don't worry Maxie, we can have Parkes Elvis Festival at my house!"
Julie vowed and declared that Maxie was not going to miss out on some Elvis fun and put on a party for her.
"We called it 'Elvis Festival at Home'," Julie laughed.
"We had a few drinks and sang and danced along to Elvis videos.
The next day I had to clean Maxie's lipstick from my TV screen where Maxie had been kissing Elvis!"
