"We have been concentrating on emergency works such as opening roads and other hazardous jobs," council's General Manager Kent Boyd said in a statement today.
Council crews responded to call-outs on Monday evening and began clearing debris and fallen tree limbs.
Mr Boyd said that while resources are limited this week because of the Parkes Elvis Festival, crews will continue to assess and prioritise clean-up work, and attend to any jobs deemed urgent.
Low risk clean-up work will be undertaken early next week, Mr Boyd said.
Residents are encouraged to contact Parkes Shire Council's Engineering Services Department to report any debris, tree limbs or fallen trees on public land.
Residents have until Sunday, January 12 at 4.15pm to dispose of any green waste from the storm for free.
Council's Engineering Department can be contacted on 02 6861 2344.
