There will be plenty of racing, larger prizemoney on offer, entertainment for all and huge giveaway prizes! Full canteen, bar and TAB facilities will be available at all race meetings.
Racing will kick off Saturday, December 28 and will feature the Medlyn's Castrol Gig Series Heats. Medlyn's Auto Services & Castrol Distributor are loyal supporters of the Parkes Harness Racing Club, and proudly sponsor this series.
The heats will lead into a final on New Year's Eve, with a new gig up for grabs for the winning trainer.
The Elvis Championship Heats will be conducted on the same night in lead up to the inaugural Elvis at the Trots meeting to be held in the new year. The heats aim to attract a handy line up of horses with the prizemoney for the final increased to $15,300.
The club will host their Carnival of Cups Meeting on New Year's Eve with the Medlyn's Castrol Gig Final to be run.
The meet will also feature the Langlands Handlon Sprint, attracting some of the best pacers in the state.
The committee thanks Langlands Handlon for their loyal and continuing sponsorship of the club.
New Year celebrations will be held after the last race with a spectacular fire work display and all are welcome to see in the New Year, 2020.
Kids entertainment will be provided throughout the night and will include face painting and jumping castle.
The club will also be giving away push bikes for the kids again. Tickets for the bikes will be given to paying patrons at the gate.
As part of the annual Elvis Festival in Parkes, the Parkes Harness Racing Club will be hosting its "Elvis at the Trots" meeting Wednesday, January 8. Famous Elvis Presley impersonator Damien Mullen will be entertaining patrons throughout the night and well after the last race, showcasing his talent and witty sense of humour.
Racing will feature the Elvis Championship Final, as well as the Golden Bar for three-year old horses. Both races will be worth $15,300.
Kid's entertainment will be provided and the usual canteen, bar and tab amenities will be available.
All patrons pay to attend the Elvis at the Trots meeting and will go into the draw to win the My Discoveries five-day Tribute to The King Cruise, departing Sydney in May 2021. There are two prizes available for this huge giveaway!
The club thanks Linda Taylor for all her dedication and effort for organising such an exciting prize for our patrons this year. "Thank you very much"!
The Parkes Harness Racing Club will also be conducting a lucky gate prize to be drawn at the Australia Day meeting on January 26.
All paying patrons who attend one of the three race meetings held on December 28, December 31 and January 26 will go into the draw to win seven nights' accommodation at Port Douglas in April, kindly sponsored by Clarinda Park IT.
The committee looks forward to hosting an exciting summer of racing for their loyal sponsors, owners, trainers, drivers, patrons and families.
Gate entry will be $10 per adult and kids under 12 are free. Race books are available at the gate and bar for $4 per book.
Thank you to all of the sponsors for your generosity, in what has been a difficult year for many. Without your continued support, racing would not be possible.
With Christmas fast approaching, the Parkes Harness Racing Club committee wishes everyone a safe and merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
