"A roaring success" is how Action Club President Bob Steel described the Parade and Carnival, held on Friday night.

"We had the schools, community groups and business represented in both the Parade and Carnival and the park was booked out with stallholders," Bob said.
"We knew we had a winning formula with a focus on what the Parkes area had to offer."
Bob went on to thank sponsors Australian Mines and Inland Rail and also Parkes Shire Council and SES for their support.
Parkes East School won the best school in the parade with the Garden Club being judged Best Community Float and Parkes Toyota the Best business Float.
Australian Mines provided $330 for the winner in each category.
The Stage area was popular with schools and community groups performing for the large crowd.
Inland Rail generously funded the sound system for the Stage which was provided by Parkes Shire Council.
Planning is underway for next years event on Friday, December 4.
