The Parkes Branch of Can Assist will be the recipient of the door takings from our Christmas Muster to be held on Saturday, December 14 and I have it on good authority that someone special from the "Claus" family will be in attendance.

As usual the Muster will be held in the newly refurbished Starlight Lounge of the Parkes Services Club commencing at 7.30pm and we'd love to see you all there enjoying the Christmas spirit with us.
Walk-up artists are most welcome, give your name to the Music co-ordinators as soon as you arrive.
A very successful AGM was held under the guidance of Councillor Alan Ward as Chairperson with all but one position being filled.
The one position remaining vacant was that of President with those in attendance, due to ill health, travels and other interests declaring they felt they were not able to commit themselves fully to the position.
Dale Cowell accepted the position of Senior Vice President, while Margret Thurn took on Junior Vice President.
Lyn Pengilly accepted the position of Secretary for another 12 months with Margret Thurn as Assistant Secretary.
Frances Charlton was unanimously returned to the position of Treasurer and Public Officer.
Christine Cox was returned to the role of Publicity Officer with Dale Cowell, Lindy Charlton and Christine Cox as Publicity Committee.
Music Co-ordinators Christine Cox, Marg Cowell and Lyn Pengilly will continue in the role and would welcome anyone who would like to join the team and learn the ropes for future musters.
As a result of this unusual outcome Alan Ward continued to chair the remainder of the AGM and General Meeting as was able to enlighten us on several questions raised during the meeting.
As most members would know our Country Music Office has been housed for sometime in the BEC building in Currajong Street.
Since the building has been sold we are now looking for space in an alternative premises to house our office equipment, trophies etc.
As mentioned previously our visit to the South Coast CMA is well into the planning stages and names and deposits are now being taken to secure your seats, well what's left in the 50 seat coach.
Plans to leave Forbes at 6am, Parkes 6.45am on Saturday, February 29, 2020 and returning Sunday, March 1, 2020 departing Mt Kemble at 3pm.
Accommodation will be at the Sovereign Inn Wollongong/Figtree.
Why not treat yourself a trip for Christmas?
You may have heard our combined muster with Dubbo/Orana at Peak Hill had to be cancelled due to power outage in Peak Hill and an alternate date will be resent for next year.
We are sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.
All efforts possible were made to publicise the cancellation of the event.
What a terrific afternoons entertainment we had on Sunday, November 16.
Our large crowd was boosted by visitors and performers from Dubbo, Forbes, Cowra, Cootamundra, Molong, Lyndhurst, Orange, Wellington and West Wyalong.
Toni Sharpe from Cowra was our feature artist and gave a fabulous performance that kept all enthralled.
Toni was accompanied by her friend and rescuer Lenny on guitar (Toni's car broke down and Lenny came to her rescue, thankfully for us).
Lenny is a member of the well known band "River Rats" and I am sure we'd all like to have heard more from him as well.
I'm hoping we won't have to wait too long for a repeat performance.
With so many visitors we have 17 walk-up artists, which included Brian Ridge, Lyn Ecclestone and Val Sternhouse from Cootamundra, Bill Murry and Alan Ford from Orange, Ann Penman from Lyndhurst, Jayson Patrick O'Brien and Sue Smith from Wellington, Bruce Toole from Forbes, Garry Hollier, Craig Manderson, Mick Bruce, Kevin Endacott and new comers Jim Hill and Skip Coble all from Dubbo, Lindy Charlton and Stephen R Cheney from Parkes.
Thanks again to Dale for comparing, Joy Rice for travelling over from Cowra to tend the sound desk, John DD for being our stage hand and all the guys and gals who make up the backing band.
We had lots of musicians get up and help out this muster and it was truly appreciated.
Looking forward to another great muster in December which will be on Saturday, December 14, commending at 7.30pm.
All proceeds of the door to Parkes Can Assist.
