Many thanks to Lyn Pengilly and Pauline Nicholson for their services in the canteen and Brendon Hunt and Hedley Nicholson for the skills on the barbeque.
Parkes High School provided 24 students who were outstanding helpers for both Stage 1 and 2 matches while ex-students Ben Evans along with Hannah and Phoebe Potts were integral to the success of the day. Thankyou to all the schools who continue to support this event. The enthusiasm and smiles throughout the day from children and their families was priceless and makes sporting interactions so vital to lift community spirit across regional Australia.
Todd Woodbridge Cup: Holy Family Stage 2 tennis team travelled to Sydney last week to participate in the Todd Woodbridge Cup. The team including Hayden Arndell, Zavier Jones, Declan Quade, Sam Morgan, Poppy Fisher, Addie Summerhayes, Ashley and Hannah Terry had the BYE in the opening round and then won their next two matches. They had a close loss against Shoalhaven and were out played against St Xaviers from Gunnedah who finished runners-up. Holy Family then played Kings Langley in the playoffs and official results came through late last week indicating Holy Family has finished in 9th place out of 20 regional winners which was an outstanding effort.
