Evelyn was awarded Champion of the Nine Year Old Girls age group after placing first with a time of 00:47:08.
Evelyn took part in the Sydney XRACE at Olympic Park on Saturday, November 2, with her father Daniel.
They were the fifth team across the finish line, placing 9 and 10 out of 1228.
Evelyn was also the first female to finish the race.
Daniel said the XRACE is held annually in most Australian capital cities and involves a parent/child team completing ten challenges throughout the course.
"The challenges vary and some suit the child while others suit the parent, and others involve joining with other teams to complete them," he said.
"Some are physical, such as a five legged race involving two pairs together; others mental, such as a memory challenge to decipher words."
Evelyn said her favourite challenge was sewing a button on her dad's shirt and watching him slowly sewing a button on the sleeve of her shirt.
"I'm going to keep this button on my shirt to remember this race," she said.
The final two challenges were making a balloon crown and painting a butterfly on each others face followed by a Fortnite dance challenge, then across the finish line.
Evelyn said she was not expecting to be named the champion for her age group.
"I couldn't believe it when they called my name, I felt speechless," she said.
Daniel said he and Evelyn had a great time participating in the XRACE.
"It's such a great opportunity for parents to engage and be involved in a fun activity with their child," he said.
