A TRUCKIE has been ordered off the road after he returned a positive reading for an illicit drug during a roadside police stop.
Officers attached to the Central West Highway Patrol unit were conducting drug and alcohol testing at 1.15pm on Sunday on the Newell Highway when they stopped a semi trailer.
"The driver was drug tested and returned a positive result to an illicit drug," officers said in a statement.
"The driver was arrested and conveyed to Parkes Police Station where he provided a sample which also returned a positive reading to the illicit drug.
"He was issued a 24 hour prohibition from driving notice and was released pending an analysis of the sample."
