The two teams will contest the Cup under lights at Woodward Oval on Saturday with the first innings beginning at 2pm.
Prior to the commencement of the opening match of this season, the centenary of the Grinsted Cup will be celebrated from 1pm with a lunch.
Players from the 50th and 75th year anniversary Grinsted Cup seasons will also be attending the celebrations and the first game of the centenary series.
Phil and Paul Dunford, who played in the 75th year of the Grinsted Cup will also be joining the Parkes squad for this year's milestone season.
Parkes and District Cricket Association Secretary Luke Nash said there is a really big day planned for Saturday to kick off the year.
Mr Nash said this will be the first time the new lights at Woodward Oval will be used for a match and one of the very first Grinsted Cup match that will be played under lights.
Parkes currently holds the Cup going into the first match of the series after securing it at the end of last season.
Peter Yelland, Parkes' captain, said although they will be treating it like any other game, both teams hold the cup pretty high in their sights in terms of prestige.
Parkes players Myles Smith and Brent Tucker will sit out this weekends game due to playing in the Western NSW Country Cricket Championships and work commitments.
Parkes' lineup for this weekend's match includes: Phil and Paul Dunford, Peter Yelland, Blake Smith, Harry and Zac Bayliss, Shayne Jones, Israel Symmington, Anthony Heraghty, Dan Wilson, Ben Coultas and Jonah Ruzgas.
Mr Yelland said he felt very privileged to play in the opening match for the centenary year of the Grinsted Cup.
