NSW Police officers say the offence occurred at 7am on Wednesday when Central West Highway Patrol officers stopped a silver Holden hatchback on Court Street in Parkes for a breath test.

The male driver, a 49-year-old from Parkes, provided a low range breath analysis reading of 0.064.

"The driver provided an American driver licence to police. Checks revealed the driver was not who he claimed on the driver licence," officers said.

"It was also noted the vehicle registration expired in September 2019."

The man was then arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station.

Police then determined that the driver had alcohol interlock provisions on his licence and the vehicle he was driving was not fitted with an alcohol interlock device.

"He was charged with low range PCA, drive while disqualified, state false particulars, goods in custody suspected of being stolen and vehicle registration offences," officers said.

"The owner of the vehicle was also issued with over $2000 for registration offences.

"The registration plates were also removed from the vehicle."

Central West Highway Patrol officers said they would continue to focus on high risk drivers.

"[We] remind drivers to comply with their alcohol interlock licence conditions, not drink drive and not drive or allow people to drive unregistered motor vehicles," police said.
