Swimming Club enables siblings to compete against one another and still have fun.
On a warmer night last Thursday, over 60 youngsters got into the swim at club night with many achieving personal best times, and very early in the season!

Last Thursday Backstroke was the event that had a 200 m event, then everyone was able to compete in Butterfly and Breaststroke over 25 or 50 metres, and Freestyle and Backstroke in 25, 50 or 100 m.
And there was well over 100 people at the pool cheering the kids on in each race and officiating to ensure the meet went smoothly. Sienna Danaher, Anna Davis and Fletcher Hall all had their first Time Trial and set some great times first up.
Out of 244 entries for events, there were 97 personal best teams achieved, with taking a whopping 24 seconds off his time for the 50 metre backstroke.
Other notable performers Hayden and Will Lamond who had seven personal bests between them, and Charlie and Meg Mahon who also achieved seven personal bests. Swimming Club enables siblings to compete against one another and still have fun. This weeks club night will be breaststroke.
Last Sunday, four club members swam at the Orana Aquatic Qualifying meet in Dubbo. Matty Price continued his rich vein of form, coming first in the seven events he entered.
In six of those he achieved personal best times. His brother Blake finished well in six events earning four personal best times, whilst Connie Fryer and Meg Skinner also achieved personal bests in their events.
Carnival entries are open now for Cowra on November 16-17, Forbes on November 23-24 and our own Parkes carnival on November 30 - December 1. The Sharks club will be holding its first family fun night on Friday, November 8 at the Parkes Golf Club.
As a gesture to the clubs in Parkes the committee has decided to hold these events at various locations to support other clubs in the town.
But don't forget to come down each Thursday night to enjoy a night of fast swimming, and perhaps even join in. Swimming trials start at 6pm and will finish by 8pm on most nights.
