A number of 'pink' events took place across town and ranged from charity dinners, walks and morning teas to bowls and golf days, and businesses simply decorating their shops and offices.
It was all to raise money to help fund more McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses, like Parkes' own Dianne Green.

"It's been a great month of fundraising and to top it off we won the Aliance Pharmacy of the Year, out of 600 pharmacies," Jenny said.
Parkes Shire Council's building certification manager Michelle Bicket baked numerous pink cupcakes for meetings and morning teas all month to raise money for Pink Up Parkes.
She made a promise that if she hit her goal of $1000, she would dye her hair pink.
"The last $52 came in on the weekend [of October 19-20]," Michelle said.
And so she waltzed into work on the Monday with her new hair-do - or hair colour rather.
"I have done it before, about 10 years ago," Michelle said of her pink hair.
"It's hard with pink dye because it really grabs - I'll probably be pink until Christmas," she laughed.
Michelle also decorated the Little Theatre pink for council's whole staff meeting, involving 130 people.
