Matt returned from the carnival with two gold medals and two silver silver medals.
He took out his class in the 100 m breaststroke and backstroke, and second in the 100 m and 50 m freestyle
These results mean that Matt has qualified for the Hancock Prospecting Australian All Age Championships to be held in Perth in April next year.
This is a terrific result, and all the more impressive considering that Matt travelled to compete before his local training even started for the summer season.
Matty first competed at State level in 2018 and became a champion, claiming gold in the 11-13 years 50m Multi-Class backstroke in 52.99 seconds.
He also picked up his very first state gold at the NSW Catholic Primary School Sports Council (NSWCPS) Swimming Championships in 2018.
Matt trains with the Parkes Sharks swimming club, which is open for all people to become members and enjoy squad training, club nights and family fun nights.
It doesn't matter how strong a swimmer you are, week by week you will find success, and maybe carnival success like Matt.
You can find out more about the club on Facebook under Official Parkes Sharks Swimming Club, or head on down to the pool on Thursday nights and talk to a committee member.
