PDJCA wishes to advise that the 2018/2019 season will commence tonight October 18 (u17s Parkes Colts versus Parkes Cats) and then tomorrow October 19 with skills training sessions for the u13s and u10s.
The u13s will be at Woodward Oval whilst the u10s will be at Keast Park. Panels of coaches/managers will be on hand at both venues to guide players and explain procedures for competition games.
The competition structure for 2019/2020 will see -
Under 17s - A six team competition featuring two Parkes teams, three Forbes teams and a team from Condobolin.
Games to begin at 6pm Friday evenings at Wooward Oval and 8.30am for Saturday morning games. Games will be 26 overs a side, batsmen to face 20 legal deliveries before retiring.
Under 13s - A seven team competition featuring three Parkes teams, and four Forbes teams.
Games to begin at 8.30am with the first innings to conclude by 10am. Teams could play up to 26 overs a side, batsmen to face 15 legal deliveries before retiring.
Teams will use a 142g leather ball. Parkes grounds will be Spicer Oval, Northparkes Oval and Harrison Park.
Under 10s - Four teams from Parkes. After the Christmas/New Year's holidays it is planned for cross town games with Forbes teams.
Games to begin at 8.30am on Saturday mornings. Teams to bat for one hour with games over by approximately 10.45am.
A soft Incrediball will be used.
Please note - for all grades that players need to be at grounds by 8.15am on Saturday mornings to ensure games start by 8.30am.

At the training/skills session on Saturday four teams will be made under the guidance of Cameron Rosser, Luke Clarke, Paul Dunford, Israel Symington, Dylan Morgan and Justin Lee. The following players have registered to play U10s -

Team Equipment
Team coaches/managers will be issued with sheets detailing competition rules when they collect their team kits, scorebooks and results sheets from the executive of PDJCA at North Parkes Oval Cricket Storage Shed from 7.50am to 8.15am tomorrow morning.
New cricket balls appropriate for the teams will be issued along with the kits. It is strongly suggested that coaches/managers read through the rules with their players prior to the start of play.
Coaches/scorers, it will greatly assist in the publication of results in the following weeks Champion Post if they neatly complete the result sheets including 3-2-1 points for the Best and Fairest players in u17s and u13s.
Hints on scoring sheets will be inside scorebooks to guide scorers in the important art of cricket scoring.
Parkes Junior Cricket has been blessed to have many parents who have demonstrated that they are neat, accurate scorers in recent years.
The neatest, most accurate and complete scorers are recognised at the annual end of season presentation.
Draw for Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19.

Representative Cricket
Extra Representative duties
The Executive of PDJCA extends hearty congratulations to several Parkes Junior Cricketers who have already gained recognition for their efforts and skills in the 2019/2020 season.
Harry Bayliss has gained selection in the Western CHS team to contest the NSW CHS Championships at Lismore.
Jack Milne and Ewan Moody played in the Western PSSA Boys team at the NSW PSSA Boys Cricket Carnival at Woolongong this week.
Holly Duncan who was selected to play in the Western PSSA Girls team at the NSW PSSA Girls Cricket Carnival to be played at Raby, Sydney in a few weeks.
Maddy Spence enjoyed considerable success at the u15 McDonalds Women's Country Championships at Raymond Terrace last week.
Inter-town Representative cricket
Parkes should well be able to field u14 and u12 representative teams in the Lachlan Cricket Council Inter-town Competitions for 2019/2020.
The first round of Inter-town representative cricket is scheduled for Sunday, November 10 when Parkes play Forbes in Parkes.
Subsequent games will be played on November 17 and December 8 before Christmas with the competition concluding in February 2020.
Under 14s play 40 overs a side whilst u12s play 32 overs a side. Parkes coaches/selectors will be keen to see prospective u14 and u12 representative players during this weekend's u17 match on Friday and at the u13 Training/Skills session on Saturday morning.
