Holy Family won their category in the regional Tournament of the Minds competition, and have been invited to participate in the NSW State Final in Sydney on Sunday.
Team member Charlotte Baird said the challenge the seven students undertook to win their place in the state final was a language one.
"We were all different language features of the world," she said.
"We had to make a new one that would help and we had to explain how it would benefit the world and we had to send it out showing people using it as well."
Mhairi Wyllie said the challenge was called TOMunication.
"TOM stands for Tournament of the Minds," she said.
The students all agreed the regional final was a lot of fun and they are very much looking forward to competing in the state final.
"We will have three hours to prepare a whole new challenge which you have no idea about until the day, along with the spontaneous challenge, which again you don't know about," Charlotte said.
"If we make it at state, we go to nationals in Hobart."
Best of luck kids, we hope you go all the way.
