If there were any question marks over the Currajong Disability Services Sewing Group taking out the major prizes at the 2018 Parkes Show they were quickly put to bed when they scooped the pool at the 2019 edition of the event.

While the magnitude of back-to-back wins may have surprised some, it came as no shock to founder of the group, CDS support worker Deitre Jackson.
"We have some amazing people in our sewing group," said Deitre.
"Seasoned campaigners like Dearnne Callaghan to up and comers like Shannon Miller - both of whom were recognised for their quilts.
"It is a great group and they all keep getting better and better," said Deitre.
Dearnne Callaghan again claimed overall honours snaffling first for the second successive year while Karen Willis was a bolt from the blue taking second.
Shannon Miller and Cherie Lovett grabbed Highly Commended certificates for their wonderful pieces to complete a domination of the section for Currajong.
"They should all give themselves a pat on the back and be very proud of their achievements," Deitre said.
"The time, dedication and attention to detail to create what they have created is extraordinary.
"I am very proud of all of them and I know everyone at Currajong feels the same."
The CDS Sewing Group relies largely on community donations of materials to operate and without such support and generosity they could not operate.
"So many groups in the community have supported us and we are eternally grateful," Deitre said.
"It has allowed us to continue and gives our guys something to do.
"We really are blessed to live in such a fantastic community."
