As part of the transformation to "Pink Hill" the Peak Hill Community Health team at the Peak Hill Multi Purpose Service (MPS) is urging the community to turn pink for the month of October to raise awareness about Women's Health and in particular Breast Cancer Awareness.
Peak Hill, Primary and Community Health nurse Louise O'Leary said, "The McGrath Foundation has set the challenge to "Pink" up our towns. So we thought we've got the added advantage of a great town name and the Peak Hill Community Health has registered to 'Pink' up Peak Hill, or should we say 'Pink Hill'".
We thought we've got the added advantage of a great town name and the Peak Hill Community Health has registered to 'Pink' up Peak Hill, or should we say 'Pink Hill'".
"We need the community's help," Ms O'Leary said.
"During the month of October, we are encouraging our community to also participate in your own way to 'Pink' up your venue, host a 'Pink' morning tea, decorate shop fronts, dye your hair, wear pink clothing whatever takes your fancy," she said.
All the money raised will go to the McGrath Foundation and the support of Breast Care Nurses.
Peak Hill Health Service Manager, Jodie Coen said, "As a Health Service we are excited to support not only a project that raises awareness about women's health but also support our local community".
"We are really delighted to be taking part in this and we would love to see the Peak Hill community to get involved too".
The ladies are open to ideas and welcome input from other members of the community.
Anyone in Peak Hill with a suggestion or who simply like to get involved is being asked to call the Peak Hill MPS on 6861 7100 and ask to speak with the ladies in Community Health Pam, Rae, Michelle or Louise.
