Don't ask, because it can't be done.

But toss the question up to most Woodbridge Cup coaches and more often than not the answer is the same: shut down Adam Hall.

You put a dent in the mercurial Trundle No.7's game and you give yourself a chance.

Turns out it's a lot easier said than done. And what's more, Hall laps it up. He can't get enough of the extra attention.

"Mate, I love it when they say it," Hall laughs.

"Because if they're trying to pick on me it leaves the others alone and it's making their job easier.

"It probably doesn't look like it, but it's been a battle this year. At times we've had just the one prop on the bench.

"But our last game was probably the first time we've been close to full strength. It was definitely a surprise seeing how well we went but the potential has been there."

Trundle effectively lapped old rivals Manildra in the major semi-final on August 25, racking up try after try to secure a 50-12 win.

Such a comprehensive win at the business end of the season, following on from a near-unblemished regular season, trying to find a chink in the Boomers' armour will be tough ahead of the 2019 grand final.

Throw in the fact the game will be played at Trundle, too, and it'll take something special for the Boomers to be knocked off in the big one.

Manildra earned the right for a re-match in the grand final after defeating Grenfell 32-20 in a hard-fought preliminary final on Sunday.

Excited for the Boomers' fifth consecutive grand final appearance, Hall just can't wait to get out there.

"I can't speak for the boys but personally I never thought it would happen, I never thought we'd get to play a home grand final," he said.

"I've played all my junior footy there and we struggled to make finals. It's amazing."

Hall says the Boomers won't be resting on their laurels ahead of the decider, with a bye later in the regular season followed by another break thanks to winning the minor premiership.

Halls says Welsh coach Josh Miles will continue to push the boys, and it's another of Miles' countryman that the Boomers half says will lead that charge.

"Our hooker, Connor Farrer, has been the best player in the comp. Every week he's in our top three," Hall added.

The 2019 Woodbridge Cup grand final will be at Berryman Oval this Sunday, September 8.
