CYMS will play in the grand final but coach Bret Fisher insists his side will be "put to the sword" if it starts the decider like it did on Sunday.
The young CYMS side overcame an error-riddled first half effort to down a spirited Parkes at Spooner Oval on Sunday and set-up a grand final clash with Forbes.
The Fishies were made to work for it though, as they fought back from 10-0 down at half-time to ultimately win 22-10.
"If we can complete our sets and go set-for-set with Forbes early I'm confident we can break them," Fisher said after Sunday's win.
"But if we can't they'll run away with it and put us to the sword and we'll be forever chasing our tails. That's it."
Halfback Randal Dowling was one of CYMS' best in the win, with his fingerprints over most of the good the side did, while five-eighth Jordi Madden provided a spark and Thomas Stimpson led from the front in the seocnd half surge.
CYMS will now feature in all four grand finals next weekend while Wellington and Forbes will play in two each.
The Cowboys' reserve grade side finished the regular season in fourth but followed up last weekend's gallant minor semi-final win over Forbes with a 28-10 preliminary final win over minor premiers Nyngan.
The league tag clash at Forbes was one of the most thrilling on Sunday, as a penalty from Amelia Davis in the final stages saw the Magpies down the Parkes Spacecats 2-0.
Next weekend's grand finals will be played at Apex Oval.
