Under 16s

Brian Collins Smash Repairs Under 16's took on a determined Forbes side last Saturday at Canowindra.

Ball passing from one side of the field to the other saw Col Rauchle finish the set with a try unfortunately conversion hit the post giving Parkes only four points.

After a time-out due to an injured player, quick play by Parkes saw Toby Miller score with an unsuccessful conversion.

Parkes defense was strong but nine minutes before half-time Forbes scored and convert.

Strong defence continued and the score remained the same as they went into half-time, 8 - 6.

Second half saw Forbes score quickly. Parkes fought back working strong as a team. Kyle Mawhinney scored followed by a successful conversion by Michael Riley taking the score to 14-10.

As Parkes worked to score, they offloaded during tackles to keep the ball alive with Toby Miller finishing the play with a try and Michael Riley converted giving them a good lead 20-10.

Play continued with both sides wanting more points but defence was strong.

An error by Forbes saw Parkes gain the ball and Michael Riley was able to score a try and successfully convert. Parkes had a stronger lead 26-10.

A penalty gave Parkes advantage and Maia Haenga turned it into points. Michael converted. With four minutes to go Parkes simply had to hold on to possession and defend. A Parkes error saw Forbes turn it into points. Followed by fumbled ball on the full-time horn saw Forbes in again. Final score Parkes 32 - Forbes 10.

Congratulations to all teams who now go through to either the Minor or Major finals at West Wyalong this Saturday. GOOD LUCK!
