To celebrate the milestone, local ex-students are planning a reunion in Parkes on the weekend of September 20 to 22.
The organising committee are encouraging those who attended Parkes High School anytime from first form in 1969 through to sixth form in 1974 to attend for a fun-filled weekend of catching up and reminiscing.
A meet and greet will take place at 5pm on Friday, September 20 at the Railway Hotel, upstairs in the Hart Bar.
Ex-students will meet up on Saturday morning for brunch at the Dish Cafe at the Parkes Radio Telescope from 10.30am.
A dinner will be held on Saturday evening from 6pm in the Coachman Hotel function room.
The cost is $50 per person and RSVPs are essential for catering purposes.
Ex-students can say their farewells at a bring-your-own picnic in Cooke Park on Sunday morning starting at 10am.

To date more than 50 ex-students have confirmed their attendance.
They are travelling from as as far as Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Singleton, Canberra, Port Stephens and Orange.
