After a successful 2018 event, Saturday September 7 will see the 33rd Trundle Bush Tucker Day take place, with a feast of food, entertainment and activities ready for all who attend. The focus of the day is to host Australia's National Bush Cook Championships, however there is much more on offer. The festival attracts over 2000 visitors each year who get to enjoy live music, bush games, sheep shearing, market stalls, kids activities, cooking demonstrations and of course plenty of taste testing.

The festival is a not for profit community event with all profits going back into the local Trundle community, which is especially vital during the tough times the region is experiencing. While the Trundle Bush Tucker Day committee normally consists of 10 core members, in the lead up to the event this number can swell to over 50 with a massive influx of volunteers who help to set up and coordinate the event, including manning the gate, selling merchandise or facilitating the free bush tucker and much more. The Trundle Bush Tucker Day relies on the support from local businesses, organisations and sponsors and without their help a spectacular event such as this simply would not be possible, and this year is no exception.

Celebrity Bush Cook, Ranger Nick, will once again be on hand to show the crowd exactly how it is done in the bush. Often referred to as the guru of camp oven cooking, Ranger Nick is the master of keeping cooking simple yet delicious, and will also entertain all visitors with songs, poems and plenty of yarns. The entertainment doesn't stop there with special guests, The Bushwackers, performing live throughout the day. The Bushwackers are famous across the country performing their exciting brand of Australian music which features frontman Dobe Newton, along with a band of stellar musicians playing fiddles, accordion, guitar, bass and drums. Other guests include Jess Holland, Gerholom Jonson and local Trundle artists, Issy N Gerry.
You can listen to the beautiful sounds of live music, while also enjoying plenty of activities and displays with something to cater for everyone, young and old. Sheep shearing demonstrations are always popular, while the dog high jump competition is the perfect way to claim 12 months of bragging rights without exerting too much effort yourself. For the younger crowd, the free Kids Corner is a great place to visit, while for the older generation, the Billy Boiling Race and Bushies Relay promises plenty of action and laughs.
Of course cooking and bush tucker is the main highlight throughout the day and people will not be disappointed by the wonderful creations that people can produce. For more information about the Trundle Bush Tucker Day, visit www.trundlebushtuckerday.com.
