Repairs to the facility's ceiling are urgently required, committee president Dianne Decker said.
It is understood the repairs will take about four days, so at this stage it is expected to be closed to members through the weekend.
Forbes Shire Council is working with the Heated Pool Committee to undertake repairs to the pool ceiling after it was identified that materials are at risk of dislodging.
These repairs are required immediately to rectify the issue and ensure community safety, a statement from the council said.
Works will include removal of the damaged ceiling, reconfiguration of lighting as well as clean-up and water quality testing before the pool is re-opened to the public.
Forbes Shire Council regrets any inconvenience to the public and remains committed to ongoing infrastructure maintenance and working together with community organisation's such as the Forbes Heated Pool Committee to provide the best possible facilities to our community.
Forbes heated pool is a private facility built with funds raised by the community in the 1960s and supported by its members who have all-hours access via key.
Improvements to the facility this year have included security cameras and there are plans for an access ramp.
The heated pool continues to be very much in demand with users ranging from learn-to-swim to rehabilitation, Mrs Decker said.
