"Our commitment to collecting good accurate performance data is in our DNA and is embedded as the fundamental approach to the way we breed sheep," said Rodney Watt.
"However you look at it, 25,800 lambs weighed within 12 hours of birth, 20,900 weaning weights, 17,500 scans with weights for post weaning fat and muscle, 4,400 individual worm egg counts is a lot of data, and it all contributes to the accuracy of the asbvs on the rams you buy.
"At Felix Rams we select for quick early growth, and maturity, grown in the paddock, not maximum adult ram size. Almost all of our selection is done at 6.5 to 7 months of age - reflecting the age most lambs are sold.
"It is all about the lambs. Our rams aren't great big late maturing rams. Late maturing rams don't produce efficient prime lambs at optimal carcase weights.

"Having tremendous looking rams at 18 months old doesn't mean they will produce great suckers at 16 weeks, but selection at six to seven months ensures the focus is on that market.
"Once again, the rams looked good despite another challenging season."
Felix Rams will offer around 140 Poll Dorset and 50 White Suffolk rams at their 21st annual on-property sale at Greenethorpe on September 3 at 1 pm. Catalogues at www.felixrams.com.au.
- Easy-going bulls with great muscling
Mount Pleasant Limousins is situated halfway between Forbes and Bedgerabong, along the foot of the Jemalong Mountain Range.
The stud is owned and operated by Luke and Sherrie Whitty, along with their three young sons Jack, Harry and Tom.
The stud was established in 2010, after the purchase of females from the Donna Valley Limousins dispersal.
Since then the family has grown and expanded the stud.
"Our aim is to produce bulls that show balanced muscling and are easy doing cattle with a docile temperament," said Luke.
"The main focus in the Mount Pleasant operation is on carcass yield, weight for age and overall dollars returned on the progeny both steers and heifers."
This year Mount Pleasant Limousins will hold their annual sale and open day on property on Wednesday September 11. On offer will be 10 bulls, six show steers and six stud heifers.
"We want to offer bulls but also steers and heifers, potentially for schools to use in their show teams," Luke said.
"The steers will have been supplementary fed.
"Our sons also have studs, Jack runs JR Limousins, with Harry and Tom partnering to form TnH Livestock.
"Both their studs have a bull each on offer, that was purchased as a calf at foot from the Red Rock Limousin dispersal.
"Two of the 10 bulls have been broken in and will be at all the local shows in August and September. We hope to see you at the local shows."
