The use of LAMBPLAN has allowed Kinellar to keep the birth weights moderate, push up the growth rates at both 100 and 200 days, increase the width and depth of loin, as well as focus on genetic fat.
Eating quality has also taken a focus.
"Kinellar sires have been trialled in the National Resource Flock to benchmark their eating quality against terminal sires across the country with results in the top 10 percent," said said Victoria Patterson.
"The focus on proven bloodlines has resulted in the most even drop of rams yet.
"With the lamb industry reaching new highs, there is no better time to be in the industry.

Kegra Border Leicester Stud
Graeme Golder, from Kegra Border Leicester Stud, based at Temora, has had a below average seasons but said it was still "reasonable" compared to many others.
After pregnancy scanning 330 of his stud ewes he found fertility rates were high with 49 having singles, 200 having twins, 72 having triplets and four having quads.
The stud was founded in 1979 and started objective measuring the stud animals in 1985 using the Sheepmeat Testing Authority which was the for runner to LAMBPLAN. This makes the stud one of the longest running Border Leicester studs in Australia to continuously performance record their sheep.
Graeme said traits they focused on included birth weight, growth rate, fertility, muscle, fat and milk production. The stud is big on the carcase traits but most importantly all sheep must be sound and true and correct to type.
